The committee has five groups: the Corporate Governance Group builds the governance system and ensures compliance with laws and the Articles of Incorporation; the Employee Care Group looks after workplace safety and welfare, cares for employees and sets work rules under the Labor Standards Act; the Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation Group promotes environmental protection, safety and health activities in line with national laws, integrates the plant environment with the community and seeks community recognition; the Customer Relations Group meets customers' expectations and rights and maintains good interaction with them; and the Community Care Group works on good neighbourly relations and takes part in community activities.

Second, to practise corporate social responsibility and advance economic, environmental and social progress toward sustainable development, the Company has adopted a Code of Practice for Corporate Social Responsibility. The Company requires itself, when conducting business, to actively fulfil its corporate citizenship, grow revenue, improve the quality of life of employees and the community, build competitive advantage grounded in corporate responsibility, and attend to stakeholders' rights in a timely manner. While pursuing sustainable operations and profit, environmental protection, employee care and good community relations are built into the Company's management policies and operations.

Third, the Company has merged CSR operations with its day-to-day management model: the demands and expectations of each stakeholder group are discussed at routine cross-departmental business meetings and, after full discussion, submitted to the General Manager for decision.

Going forward, the Company will strengthen corporate governance, develop a sustainable environment, look after employee welfare and improve CSR disclosure. Taking into account domestic and international CSR trends and their relevance to the core business, it will evaluate and adopt CSR policies, systems, management guidelines and concrete action plans, to be implemented after approval by the Board of Directors.

CSR Committee structure

Chair (General Manager)

Secretary-General

Implementation Secretary

Corporate Governance Group

Employee Care Group

Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation Group

Customer Relations Group

Community Care Group

Stakeholder identification

Stakeholders are the groups that affect, or are affected by, the Company. To communicate with stakeholders in a timely manner, understand the sustainability issues they care about, build them into the Company's sustainability strategy and maintain smooth channels for communication and response, we engage stakeholders openly and transparently in accordance with the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards). This includes disclosing the categories of key stakeholders, communication channels, the sustainability issues each stakeholder group cares about, the material topics identified, and the content to be disclosed in this report.

First, the Company holds its annual CSR meeting to identify key stakeholders and list the sustainability issues each of them cares about, which serves as the basis for disclosure in the report. In 2018 six key stakeholder groups were identified: government agencies, shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, and the local community and media.

Communication with key stakeholders

The Company keeps in touch with key stakeholders through routine, diverse channels to learn which sustainability issues they care about. After discussion and screening at the CSR meeting, these are compiled into a list of sustainability issues. Through routine communication channels we hold a dialogue with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations of the Company, which then guides the Company's sustainable operations.

Key stakeholder

Communication channel / frequency

Issues of concern

The Company's response

Government agencies

Seminars and public hearings held by competent authorities / as needed. Stakeholder inclusiveness: the Company has identified its key stakeholders. Sustainability context: the report discloses how the Company improves, or reduces harm to, economic, environmental and social conditions, developments and trends at the local, regional and global level. Materiality: the report reflects significant economic, environmental and social impacts, and matters that substantively influence stakeholders' assessments and decisions. Completeness: the material topics and their boundaries covered in the report are sufficient to reflect the Company's significant economic, environmental and social impacts and to let stakeholders assess its performance during the reporting period.

Second, the Company applies the six principles for defining report quality. Accuracy: the information is sufficiently accurate and detailed for stakeholders to assess the Company's performance. Balance: the information reflects both positive and negative performance so that all parties can reasonably assess the Company's overall performance. Clarity: information is presented in a way that stakeholders using it can easily understand and access. Comparability: the Company selects, compiles and reports information using consistent standards, presented so that stakeholders can analyse performance over time and compare it with peers. Reliability: the information and processes used to prepare the report are gathered, recorded, compiled, analysed and disclosed in a way that can be examined and that establishes the quality and materiality of the information. Timeliness: the Company reports regularly, so that information is available in time for stakeholders to make decisions. The spirit of all six principles is built into this report.

The four principles for defining report content

Stakeholder inclusiveness

Sustainability context

Materiality

Completeness

The six principles for defining report quality

Accuracy

Balance

Clarity

Comparability

Reliability

Timeliness

The full CSR report

Finally, based on the sustainability topics in the latest GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards) published by the Global Reporting Initiative, and with reference to the issues key stakeholders care about across governance, economic, environmental and social dimensions, the CSR meeting screened and listed 18 sustainability issues: 3 economic, 6 environmental and 9 social. These were then plotted on a materiality matrix by "level of stakeholder concern" and "degree of impact on the Company", identifying 8 material topics for the year: economic performance, regulatory compliance, carbon reduction, water management, wastewater and waste, occupational safety and health, community relations, and product labelling. The Company discloses its management approach and performance data for these material topics in this report.

Dimension

Sustainability issues

Economic

Economic performance, regulatory compliance, grievance mechanism

Environmental

Supply chain management, raw material management, green energy, carbon reduction, water management, wastewater and waste

Social

Labour–management communication, compensation and benefits, occupational safety and health, talent development, equality and non-discrimination, community relations, product labelling, brand image, participation in public-welfare activities

Note: corporate governance, ethics and integrity, and risk management are mandatory disclosures under the GRI Standards and are therefore not included in the list of sustainability issues.

Materiality matrix

Comparing the material topics identified in 2018 and 2019, economic performance and environmental protection (including wastewater and waste, water management and carbon reduction) remain material, and regulatory compliance, occupational safety and health, community relations and product labelling were retained in 2019. This shows how far the Company has taken its corporate social responsibility, and reflects its effort to strengthen interaction with the community around its plant and win society's recognition. Material topics identified in 2018 such as business integrity and risk control are mandatory disclosures under the GRI Standards, so this report still covers them.

["post-7","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
